The celebration of Bengali New Year is also known as “Nababarsha”, “Poila Baisakh”. The word “Naba” means “New” and the word “Barsha” means “Year”. Thus, “Nababarsha” means “New Year” in Bengali language. It is the time of fun, frolic, revelry and merry-making for the Bengalis. It’s indeed a grand celebration for them and they do it in their own unique manner.
Let’s make this Poila Baishakh a little stylish, a little vibrant, a step ahead from the traditionalism. Here you go with the steps to beat the scorching heat:
Ø Make it a point to use umbrella and cover your face with stole. Sunglasses are in vogue in order to keep pace with the changing trend.

Ø
Apply sunscreen religiously. The hack is, the cream should always be applied at least 20 mins before you move out in sun. This gives the cream time to get absorbed in skin. Also, select creams which provide protection from both UVA and UVB rays.

Ø
Keep yourself hydrated. Avoid aerated drink as it contains high amount of sugar which is not good for your face as it may easily lead to bloated face. Drink as much water as possible. Trust us, there is no drink cooler than water. Flaunt it!
Ø
Cotton and linen clothes must be worn in order to feel comfortable and less sweat absorption. Light-colored yet beautiful prints, dots and cheques look fashionable.

Ø
No make-up is preferred or at least keep it minimal. Make ups generally can’t sustain high temperatures making your face look messy as well as they are abosrbed in skin pores making them difficult to remove. Keep your natural glow. Use skin toners as they close the pores on skin and hence water retention happens resulting in less dry skins.

Ø
We need to take care of our feet as well. In order to keep the feet in good condition, we need to wear covered, yet stylish shoes. Pedicure is an add-on once a month on a regular basis.

It’s time to get immersed in the joy of Poila Baishakh keeping in mind the above factors. SHUBHO NABOBARSHO!!!!!! :) :)
